The tennis facility at Emerald Greens has been recognized as one of the top private club tennis facilities in Tampa Bay, but that is nothing new. The history of our tennis facility dates back to the 1970s and the heyday of the tennis boom in America when members lined up to wait for available courts on days when the club wasn’t hosting large scale adult, junior and professional tournaments. It was also at that time our members began to involve themselves in area leagues such as the venerable Suncoast Ladies Tennis League.
Today, we are one of a few clubs that can boast of being a 30+ year member of the Suncoast League, which features 14 clubs competing weekly with 28 players per roster. Suncoast is just one of eight current ladies league teams at Emerald Greens. Our lineup of teams also includes six USTA teams at various levels and an Interbay Tennis League team. Most significantly, we are the only club in Tampa Bay which has league rosters comprised exclusively of club members. Our trophy collection is a reminder of past achievements in these leagues. 
With eight state-of-the-art Hydro courts that are manicured to a first-class resort standard and a brand-new tennis players lounge on site, Emerald Greens is also regarded for its amenities. Our members can receive lessons from three certified tennis professionals seven days a week. We also offer five adult clinics each week with no minimum participation requirements unlike most facilities. Tennis players can use our Playmate ball machine, borrow training equipment and then workout in the fitness center adjacent to the tennis courts at no additional cost. Juniors can learn to play in our After-School Programs and ever-popular Summer Tennis Camps. Our tennis staff understands it is our responsibility to get our members and resort guests involved and we pride ourselves on making sure everyone gets to play as much tennis as they like while they are here.
