Dan Maples Brings Pinehurst Flair and Design Principles to Emerald Greens
Dan Maples is a member of one of the most accomplished golf and golf architecture families in the United States. Dan's grandfather, Frank Maples, supervised the construction of the first four courses at Pinehurst in association with Donald Ross. Dan's father, Ellis, also worked with Donald Ross and went onto build over 70 courses including Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina. Dan Maples was part of the crew that designed that course and has designed several courses around the world.

At Emerald Greens, Dan brings Pinehurst-style design features and a Pinehurst approach to the Gulf Coast. His philosophy is to challenge the better golfer from the back tees while making a golf course enjoyable for the “average” golfer from the forward tees.
